Mr. Baker's swing and syncopation from 3:30 is amazing! Stevie's B3 solo is just great, as is EC on a tele and Ric Grech's jazz bass with foam rubber under the strings, Stevie's voice, wow!

O my God, what a great rendition... how can he sings so beautifully... and seems to have no need to effort, he sings with such intensity but as he if was drinking a glass of water...

See 1:53. The Bass has "dampening foam" under the strings between the tailpiece & the bridge. You can get "ghost notes/harmonics" sometimes from that area & this is a classic low-tech fix by a musician with good ears.

Eric Clapton wasn't sure how good the band were when they played in Hyde park.

Blind Faith were the kind of group that were destined to remain more like a project. Having said that, they were exceptional whilst they lasted.

My best friend Phil Gray and I were there. We hitched lifts down from Southport the day before, hid in the park sleeping in bushes, and were the first there right in the middle starving all day in case we lost our places. Gruelling day, but worth it. It was only a couple of weeks after Cream's last concert at the Albert Hall, which I also attended. I was a Cream addict back then.

I seem to remember that on the day a lot of people didn't quite know what to make of this performance. Very different from what the band members were doing in their previous groups Cream, Traffic and Family. Perhaps better appreciated later once people had gotten over their expectations and could listen to the music for what it was.

I listen to this over and over again. I prefer this version versus the original. I love Steve Winwood's voice!

To the people yelling "We want Cream back" at the beginning, they really had no idea what they were hearing.

Claptons guitar playing was at its freshest in 1969!  One of the reasons it's the greatest year in music history.

Steve Winwood has his own style, but Jagger properly sneers the lyrics of the story.

I agree, also it's not the same without the the marimba riffs played by Brian Jones, which was the most popular part of the song.
