Caught her bio on cbs Sunday morning .
Heres a few nuggets for ya'll
This was her first release as a solo artist, she was a back up singer first , sang on a drifters record when she met Burt .
They mispelled her name by mistake on this record....its actually warrick, The name stuck.
She hates the song San Jose , lol
And one u may know but i didnt , whitney houston is her cousin!
An absolutely gorgeous song from the early sixties that is magnificent in every respect: a majestic, almost celestial introduction, with beautiful vocal and instrumental accompaniment. I loved this song from the first time I heard it in junior high school, and I wasn't into music at the time. The Warwick-Bachrach-David collaboration has to be one of the most effective in popular music history. By the way, who were the angelic vocalists who backed up Dionne on this record?
Lyrics:
Don't make me over
Now that I'd do anything for you
Don't make me over
Now that you know how I adore you
Don't pick on the things I say, the things I do
Just love me with all my fault
The way that I love you
I'm begging you
Don't make me over
Now that I can't make it without you
Don't make me over
I wouldn't change one thing about you
Just take me inside your arms and hold me tight
And always be by my side, if I am wrong or right
I'm begging you
Don't make me over
Don't make me over
Now that you've got me at your command
Accept me for what I am
Accept me for the things that I do
Accept me for what I am
Accept me for the things that I do
Now that I'd do anything for you
Now that you know how I adore you
Just take me inside your arms and hold me tight
And always be by my side, if I am wrong or right
I'm begging you
Don't make me over
Don't make me over
Now that you've got me at your command
Accept me for what I am
Accept me for the things that I do
Accept me for what I am
Accept me for the things that I do
As often as I've listened to this beautiful song, there's always some new discovery I make somewhere in its heart-warming yet heart-wrenching arrangement. It just blows me away to think how this golden era of Classic songwriting & singing is truly that... outstanding, remarkable material that has stood decades & still glows strongly today. Great song !!
