Funeral for a Friend were a band I grew up listening to in my high school years about 15 years ago. I've played guitar for about 10 years as well so believe me when I say they are masters of rhythm guitar and I can't really find anyone to top them in the UK now. I had all of their albums up to and including Hours but started to listen to other genres of music since them.
I just had a whim to listen to my favourite bands of the past and I'm pleasantly surprised but Funeral for a Friend - never expected them to be solo type people and especially for the post hardcore genre. I always knew they had the talent to solo but never showed it. Dynatwenty is 100% correct, too much guitar for the genre but that doesn't make the song bad - it makes it bad ass.
Great stuff - I'm missing my childhood and Oh God, I'm 27 this year...
I was there when this was recorded! They were at Melkweg with Red Tape Parade, We Are The Ocean and The Blackout. Was definitely one of the best nights of my life. I can even see myself and my friends a few times in this video haha. Love this band.
