I am a martial art practicer, when I was desperately looking for a song for my performance Vietnamese sword style, I found this masterpiece and the funny thing is “Tsurugi no mai” literally means “sword dance” which match the style name. I was so happy and grew love from the moment the song played.
A couple of decent artists are stepping up, but I wonder who is going to be the next "Nujabes". It sucks that legends like him and Dilla are dead man, so much good music left on the table that never got made. I do believe though, just like the olympics that records and greatness was made to be broken. Eventually, hopefully in the next 5-10 years we will get another "Samurai Champloo" type anime that puts this style of music back on the map and that artist becomes the next Nujabes. I've been a Nujabes fan since 04' way before he died and he represents more of a symbol now. Nobody will ever BE as good as Nujabes, but they can be very close.
