This is a very pretty, flowery song. The term “flowery” applies because the first four notes of the melody re-appeared in Stevie Wonder’s “Power Flower” from his Journey Through The Secret Life of Plants album which came out a year after this in 1979. Notably, in his song these notes appear as the first four notes of his melody as well! Also, Minnie Riperton’s influence is felt in the delicate, light gait of the music as seen in the beginning of her song “Les Fleurs” — which means “the flowers” in French. Minnie’s song pre-dated this one by about 8 years (1970). Seemed worthwhile to point out:)
