Love hearing a recording from '56 with the bass at the front of the mix. I guess that's what happens when you let Mr. PC lead on a session.

Some Paul Chambers resources etc., perhaps redundant for some of you:
1. a multi-album set of Chambers' work as a band-leader and/or before he hooked up with Miles Davis.
2. A book entitled THE MUSIC OF PAUL CHAMBERS. It contains transcriptions and discussions of some of Mr. Chambers' work.
3. A CD set called JOHN COLTRANE QUARTET WITH RED GARLAND: COMPLETE RECORDINGS. Paul Chambers plays bass on most of the cuts (all of em' on 2 of the 3 CDs, over half of the cuts on the 3rd CD), If I recall correctly, I had to get this material from Europe.
