I remember thinking to myself in 1980 when this song was released how courageous a record it was to release for Paul Davis. And I was already a big fan of his then.
If only there were courageous Christian people in the music business today to provide a strong role model for upright Christian values.
I always wanna do right. And this song is a great message to the people of what life can be if we only remember what Christ did for every man and women who ever lived. We can't just keep on living like we're living, we have to "do right"!
I love this song... He hits or should hit everybody on the head when he says
"You got to do right" we need to bring our conscience back to start thinking before we act.
I had the honor of meeting Paul in Nashville in 1987. I was nobody but he took the time to talk to me for about 15 minutes. What a warm, humble and friendly man! He spoke with a soft, down home southern accent but sang like this, Wow! Paul, I will go on enjoying listening to you sing as long as I live. RIP brother, until I see you again.
THATS PAUL DAVIS FOR GIVING YOUR TWO CENTS IM SURE JESUS TOOK NOTICE.I REMEMBER ON YOUR ALBUM WWAS WRITTEN FOR HE WHO HAS EARS TO HEAR .AND JESUS WAS REALLY SPEAKING TO ME AT THAT TIME TURNED MY WORLD UP SIDE DOWN .HE WAS AND IS REALLY FOR REAL.I HAVE BEEN TRIPPING EVERY SINCE. THANKS SOME PLANT SOME WATER BUT GOD GIVES THE INCREASE
it's amazing how revelant songs that you listen to back in your youth has meaning today. Some songs never get old. And Do Right is one of those songs for me.
A truly amazing singer song writer - very under-rated, huge fan and he did had a large following... charts did not show his true success and love from the public. RIP my brother, thanks for the message in this amazing song, it's need more than ever in 2019.
