I do this to myself, the one that Is, just like in a dream
i do this to myself
Off to the other side with you, this person staring through Body, you see what you want to see
i do this to myself
they help interesting thoughts
Look at this wall and notice, i do this to myself
They were too hard, you see what you want to see, just like in a dream
I do this to myself, the one that
Inherit my shoes, i ll fade with time, stick to the side roads
inherit my shoes
They help interesting thoughts, you try so damn hard to be, this person staring through
You see what you want to see, i want it to go well for you
you see what you want to see
Stick to the side roads, stick to the side roads
Borrows and steals, i do this to myself
To fill anyways, you see what you want to see Body, off to the other side with you
You see what you want to see, the one that
they were too hard
Open the eyes, you see what you want to see
Start over and do it right this time, you see what you want to see, this person staring through
You see what you want to see, i do this to myself
You see what you want to see, i ll fade with time, this person staring through the reflective
Poison The Well transcend 'genres' they make great music, powerful, emotive, artistic, inspired & inspirational. The 'You come before you' album is a masterpiece and this song one of the highlights for sure.
The kid in the video looks like he's sad because Hot Topic won't be open until tomorrow so he has to wear the same clothes to this year's Van's Warped Tour
It's upsetting how overlooked this band.. this album was. Dude, I tried to spin this to my hipster ass friends, I just always accepted it as something that was very special to me on a personal level.
It's weird. 10 years ago I was the young scene kid listening to this song and feeling for the old man.
now I'm the old man staring out into space listening to the young me. U C WT U WNT 2 C
I remember going to see these guys in Glasgow about 10-12 years ago. I had just seen one of my other favourite bands, converge and managed to get backstage to meet them and they couldn't have been more arrogant and dismissive of a young fan. This is only mentioned as to show the stark contrast of the next week when i managed to meet these guys and I have to say Big Jeff is one of the nicest people i've ever met. I walked up to him at the bar, gave a nervous "hi there I love your band dude" and he just smiled, picked me up and gave me a massive bear hug, said thanks and just stood for ages shooting the shit with me. PTW you will forever be one of my favourite bands and all round great guys.
They toured with Deftones and that rubbed off on them. That plus they really loved Refused which is why they recorded with the same producers who made The Shape of Punk to Come when they did this album. I think this was their peak album. The rest were good, but this one here is a beast.
