Me and the professor, and Dr, John play together every day. I just love you tube....I put on a song, play my 'bone, my guitar, and just get better every day! Nothing like jammin' with the best , although I'm my only (willing) audience.! Thanks for posting, you make a man glad and happy, Merci, mon frere!

I was five when this guy died... It's such a shame; I'd love to have seen him play. No one can play New Orleans Blues without being in his debt.

I like to sing this when I'm shitfaced. Never miss a beat. The good Professor had a wonderful sense of humor but was the truth on the piano. New Orleans gold right here!

I will never understand you tube. How can anyone in there right mind pick up a mouse move it to the dislike button on this tune and then press it and still live with out wanting to kill themselves. This guy was a genius. Just listen to the piano playing. Just listen. There should be some type of law against being so talented. Rest in peace Fess we miss you and love you. Thanks for the music.

35 years ago this month.  I was blessed to see fess at the end of this tour in New York City.  He went home to NOLA and passed on shortly after the New Year.  He was put everything he had into that show.  Thank You Fess...

This son I cannot resist - makes me happy every morning - got drunk on it while in New Orleans (beware of "hurricanes"). Hugh Laurie version is great too. What a piano ! what a melody ! what a name (?)

professor longhair was the best in totality for the tipitina, go to mardi gras and big chief songs, play, singing, whistling, yodeling, horn section licks, the military rollin pop of the motivating beat and just the foundational mastery continued from joplin to gershwin.

I hope that when I die if I'm lucky I will hear the Angeles playing the Blues, Swing Time along with Boogie Woogie with my loved ones close by along with my dogs listening to beautiful music with dancing, toe tapping and smiles all around!

I used to come off 2 weeks on an oil field boat and head right down to Tipitina's bar. It was always lively, and the music was great, old timers and new rising hot musicians. The beer was good and cold.
