cracking little bassline, I like how it gets faster towards the final stretch. the simplistic tone reminds me of an instrumental Sleaford mod kinda beat. think i'll be spinning this next set.
It's been waaaaayyy too long since i heard this.
I had to order this import album when it was released when i was a kid.
It took every cent i had that week.
this has always been my fave p.i.l track. hopefully one day the demos will be released. i'd love to hear what type of vocals were added onto 'socialist'
One of my favorite post punk albums. Sometimes I listen to their post Flowers of Romance stuff and it's fucking depressing. FoR didn't quite live up to Metal Box but it was certainly a unique and stimulating experience. This band could've become something special were it not for Levine and Wobble's departure and John Lydon's inability to carry a band on his own.
Do you have Metal Box demos. They DO exist cos i used to have them on a crusty tape 30 years ago. this song had vocals possibly by Wobble /Alt mix of Death Disco & 3 smart mixes of Wobbles Beat the Drum of the Betrayal album
