All the leaves are brown and the sky is gray.
I’ve been for a walk on a winter’s day.
I’d be safe and warm if I was in L.A.;
California dreamin' on such a winter’s day.
Stopped in to a church I passed along the way.
Well I got down on my knees and I pretend to pray.
You know the preacher likes the cold;
He knows I’m gonna stay.
California dreamin' on such a winter’s day.
All the leaves are brown and the sky is gray.
I’ve been for a walk on a winter’s day.
If I didn’t tell her I could leave today;
California dreamin' on such a winter’s day.
California dreamin' on such a winter’s day.
California dreamin' on such a winter’s day…
The first time that tv ad aired, a few months ago, I froze where I stood.
Their rendition blew me away--and the commercial only had about 1 minute out of the whole thing.
PS: I could care less about buying lottery tickets and chasing fortunes. That would only complicate my life beyond repair.
But, like yourself, I was simply mesmerised by their performance--and, so, I'm more than glad to listen to the commercial over and over.
A supremely wonderful rendition of a classic song. It amazes me how this choir achieves such an ethereal quality to their sound which seems to transport me, the listener, out of the here and now to a state of, well, almost transcendence.
