Lonely is the night
Now that darkness has fallin'
Nothing seems right
And the world is callin'
Everybody’s looking back
As the wind comes whispering by
The’re waitin' for the answers then
Like the time they heard a cry
Hang on
Don’t ever go
Life’s here
I know
Wind called on me
How it took me by surprise
Cause night come upon me
Creeping through the distant skies
Wind tell me what you can
'Bout the life — What I came from
A breeze blew and whispered then
In a voice rich as the sun
Hang on
Don’t ever go
Life’s here
I know
Saw 'em in NYC on a multi-colored visit there oh so many years ago. Small basement club... and they rocked it like rock was supposed to be. Great vocals, solid band, cool tunes... and that B3....my my!!
I have always loved the intro to this song, great, simple, ear-catching drumming. Props to Luther Grosvenor for writing a geat tune. I love Gary Wrights voice (Dream Weaver) as well. Thanks SO MUCH for posting this.
One of my all time favorite songs...gives chills when I have'nt heard it for a while...a vastly underated band in my opinion...almost never played on the radio nowadays because people want to hear Freebird for the one millionith time!
Best Spooky Tooth album ever...i saw them along about when this album came out....i hated it when they disbanded....Gary Wright is awesome..so is Luther (Ariel Bender) Grosvenor.....
if all I had was a steady musical diet of Spooky Tooth Free, Mott,Humble Pie, Bad Co, Small/The Faces and Traffic I'd be doing all right...the heck with the rest.
What a great group and what a fantastic time of my life. In 1969 I was a roady for a local group called "Crossfield" out of Wilkes Barre Pa.The band covered some of spooky tooth`s music and did it justice.Thank you for taking your time to post this music. They talk about teleportation, well I just found out how to go back 40yrs all I had to do was listen to spooky tooth and close my eyes.
when this song first came out , I was attending the Julliard academy fer gifted Irish hippie kids (here in the Bronx-as featured in the craptastic series 'Fame') mastering the basic chords, the nuns brought me in an organ -my own had been lost in a combine accident many years before-the whole school had been assembled in the hall. folks were flabbergasted as i played the whole song perfectly. not a missed note-nor a dry eye in the crowd. i played thru 2 or three encores...Fuck! that wasn't me. that was some afterschool special i watched once! never mind!
