Oh let me go Let me go Let me go lover
Let me be, set me free from your spell
You made me weak, cut me deep, I can’t sleep lover
I was cursed from the first day I fell
You don’t want me But you want me to go on wanting you
How I pray that you will say that we are through
Please turn me loose
What’s the use
Let me go lover
Let me go Let me go Let me go You don’t want me But you want me to go on wanting you
How I pray that you will say that we are through
Please turn me loose
What’s the use
Let me go lover
Let me go Let me go Let me go
Theresa Veronica Breuer,
(1931-2007), was a native of Toledo, Ohio She had a prettier and more accomplished voice that Joan Weber, so I favor this version, although I have sentimental reasons for respecting Weber's immortal original smash hit recording. Teresa Brewer died aged 76 of a hideous neurological disease called progressive supranuclear palsy.
She was dragged into the studio 2 a.m. in Manhattan (she lived in New Rochelle) to get the record done after Joan Weber's original was introduced on the popular Studio One live drama series.. Patti Page also did a quickie cover, as did Peggy Lee.
The incomparable Teresa - she is one of the best singer. She is in the group of Patty Page and Patsy Cline. In my book, she has class and a pure talent. An outstanding star for all time.
