Maybe someday
Saved by zero
I’ll be more together
Stretched by fewer
Thoughts that leave me Chasing after
My dreams disown me Loaded with danger
Maybe I’ll win
Saved by Zero
Holding onto
Words that teach me I will conquer
Space around me Maybe I’ll win
Saved by zero
Maybe I’ll win
Saved by zero
Maybe someday
Saved by zero
I'll be more together
Stretched by fewer
Thoughts that leave me
Chasing after
My dreams disown me
Loaded with danger
So, maybe I'll win (saved by zero)
Maybe I'll win (saved by zero)
Holding on to
Words that teach me
I will conquer
Space around me
So, maybe I'll win (saved by zero)
Maybe I'll win (saved by zero)
Maybe I'll win (saved by zero)
Maybe I'll win (saved by zero)
So, maybe I'll win (saved by zero)
Maybe I'll win (saved by zero)
Maybe I'll win (saved by zero)
Who needs to win (saved by zero)
Saved by zero
The Fixx was underrated. The different sounds and their vocals/chorus were all hypnotizing. Nowadays, a few artists are incorporating more of the 80's sound /vibe into their music, which is a good thing. There are many great artists out today who have an outta-the-box artistic vision, but the 80's were clearly the best decade for pop diversity.
the early 80s people saw an eery, post-apocalyptic, sleek, monolithic vision of the future, so far ahead of its time that it never truly came to be. looking back now, its like a collective dream everyone had and were looking to express. this song/video really does a good job of encapsulating that otherworldly aesthetic.
I grew up in Chicago during this time and even the house djs back then would play this on the radio and in the clubs. Even till this day you still have many of the true house creator djs from Chicago who will from time to time re-edit these classics. One of my favorite cuts indeed.
I remember watching this video on Mtv as a young teenager wishing I was old enough to drive to school not walk, to pick up my girlfriend in a sports car and not on my bike handlebars, to travel around the world, drink beer at a bar, etc. Now, I'm watching this video on a computer screen as a 45 year old wishing I could run four miles without my knees hurting, have a few drinks at night without feeling like crap the next morning, pick up girls on my bike and not an expensive car with high monthly payments, and only travel for leisure once in awhile not weekly for my career.
Such an eerie, haunting song. I still love it more than 30 years later. The video is so surrealistic, and a perfect fit for the song. Back in the days when MTV was relevant, and bands had to be creative.
