Touch me, how can it be?
Believe me the sun always shines on TV
Hold me close to your heart
Touch me and give all your love to me, to me
I reached inside myself and found
Nothing there to ease the pressure of my ever worrying mind
All my powers waste away
I fear the crazed and lonely looks the mirror’s sending me these days
Please don’t ask me to defend
The shameful lowlands of the way I’m drifting gloomily through time
I reached inside myself today
Thinking there’s got to be some way to keep my troubles distant
Hold me close to your heart
Touch me and give all your love to me
Your love to me
Whos listening in 20- ? No, the time if which you listen to this song is not important. What's important is that you are able to listen and enjoy it. This song is timeless, will never get old and will hold a special place in our hearts. Congratulations on more than 1 Billion for Take On Me, A-ha and thank you for this masterpiece and treasure that you have shared to the world!
As iconic as "Take On Me" was, and no matter how much I liked it, this song is the better of the two, melodically, lyrically and arguably, stylistically. All these years later, and it's THIS song by a-ha I come back to; not "Take On Me."
Current artists can sample all they want. One thing they WONT ressurect is the magic of the Era which has been and gone. We had it good in the 80's. Real good.
