It's up to you. Once you are old enough (if not already) to live on your own, you can pick and chose who you let into your life. And like me, I hope you will not suffer a single soul who treats you with anything but the love and respect you deserve.
Middle school... I wish I knew about this song back when I was in it... So many cruel people...
Now a days, people give credit to artist like Lady Gaga for making songs that tell you to be yourself, but others get cast of to the side.
Voltaire is one who shouldn't be, because this song has had a much better effect on me then any other song I've ever heard.
Unfortunately, that's where you're wrong. Their self esteem is NOT miles above yours, it's miles BELOW yours!!! It's the biggest and best kept secret about bullying. Bullies usually feel really poorly about themselves and so they pick on others to make themselves feel superior. I'm a thousand percent convinced that guys who go "gay bashing" are secretly gay. It's as if they believe that by beating up gays, they make themselves look more "straight". The bullies are the sad ones, my friend!
See, Im only 14 and im Contemplating Suicide, But hearing this, Really cheers me up.. It makes me feel like someones there for me. I'm dealing with False accusations, Bullying, And abuse. I remember when I saw you A while back in Pensacola, Florida. It was the best time of my life. And just hearing you play, Made me so happy. I actually felt like I was liked..I was for once.. I can't wait to see you again, Voltaire, And thank you, so much.
Thank you.
Probably won't cure the trauma of six solid years of terror, culminating in an actual attempt on my life, with intermittent periods of bullying after, but this song was a long way toward potentially avoiding costly therapy.
Man Voltaire, how does it feel being the greatest person to have ever walked the face of the Earth? Because honestly I've never seen a person so kind, understanding, down to earth, non judgemental, funny, fashionable, talented, skilled, intelligent and attractive in all my life. You have drastically improved my life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart :)
While I've never been bullied, the school I go to does have a sickening atmosphere of degeneration. The only sense of humor people have consists of getting others down and laughing at their every mistake. It kind of makes it hard to have a good time.
The important thing is that you saw the error of your ways and changed. I truly believe what Gandhi said, "you have to be the change you want to see in the world." Good for you for changing for the better!
Believe it or not, I got the "you were asking for it" line referring to being molested as a child from one of my parents RECENTLY! It just blows my mind that there are so few people in this world who understand that we are not hurting anyone by being quiet or artistic or expressing ourself through the way we look. I can only hope that someday that will change.
