Me at 10 years old: "When I grow up, I'm going to marry Deborah Harry".
My Dad: "She's on drugs".
Me at 10 years old: "NO SHE IS NOT! YOU TAKE THAT BACK!".
Me at 50 years old: "Yeah, she was on drugs, but that's not a deal breaker".
That line "Your hair is beautiful, ahhhh-tonight" has haunted me for decades. It's just a line in the song, but somehow it stood out from the rest of the lyrics. Incredibly beautiful, both the song and the singer.
One of my favorite Blondie tunes. Interesting fact: the chick with the sunglasses who is shown dancing in the audience is the supermodel Gia. She was very famous at the time and her life was turned into a movie starring a young Angelina Jolie. Unfortunately she went from superstardom to heroin addiction and became one of the first women to die of AIDS during the 1980's epidemic.
