Is it just me, or does the chorus of this sound an awful lot like the song "All That Meat And No Potatoes"?

My daddy sang me this song all my life until he died. This is my first time hearing the real song.

I haven't heard this in fifty years.  Love it!

Dinah's and Doris Day's recording of this song are the two best versions of this excellent song.

Why can't more songs by about pies and their shoo flying ways.

I remember my mother singing this to me when I was little in the late 60s. This is the first time I've heard the original. What sweet memories. And my mother's rendition was pretty amazing :-)

For some reason this song came into my head! Maybe after 40 years or so. Amazing how the human brain works. I usually listen to jazz like Miles, Coltrane, Lee Morgan. So why did I come here? I have no idea but it sounded great and happy.

My dad used to sing this. Shoo fly pie is a depression era pie when people didn't have much. It's still sold in Amish country in Pennsylvania. A fine memory.

Sweet-band version was recorded by Guy Lombardo's Royal Canadians, vocal by Don Rodney. Dinah's still the best with the southern cuisine.

I remember this song being sung at a 40s-themed choir follies in high school. Good memories.
