As always - though-provoking, hope-giving, insightful and meaningful. Drawing our attention to the problems we need to talk about and solve in order to be happy! Great work! I cant express my gratitude towards you for putting out these vids!

While you bring up very important points in this thoughtful video, I think you missed out on the important part that people in "non-first world countries" experience many of these struggles too. Certainly people from the Republic of Congo have relationship problems as well and struggle to find meaning in the world on top of battling hunger and illiteracy and diseases. I think it is false to assume that if someone is from a poor country they face life-and-death situations all day long and it would never occur to them to get frustrated over more trivial things. I wish you had made it clearer in your video that these struggles aren't mutually exclusive.

It seems the definition of "wealth" the world has accepted is a full recipe for insanity and self-destruction.

I really enjoy watching these videos and they usually help to widen my perspective, but I find this one a little disappointing. First, as another user mentioned, the big problem with the phrase "first world problems" is this implicit assumption that "third world people" are too busy staving off starvation and illiteracy to worry about the finer points of existence. Additionally, I find the statement that in 300 years we'll all be first world countries to be a bit simplistic. Development isn't linear and there are so many factors responsible for the endearing poverty in much of the world. It's impossible to say how or when the rest of the world will attain the economic status enjoyed primarily by Western countries.

The thing about natural beauty really makes me appreciate living in a small but wealthy country. Norway is fairly large in size compared to our population (5 million), so even cities like Oslo and Bergen that are big by Norwegian standards are still small enough to be surrounded by nature. You only need to take the bus for 5 minutes from Oslo to see rolling green hills and forests. I feel so trapped everytime I go to big cities abroad like London or Barcelona, 'cause they're so urban and so lacking in greenery that it feels unnatural and almost alien to me since I'm used to having trees and mountains all around me. Of course, a lot of people prefer big cities, but those are my two cents anyways.

Part of the reason people are far more stressed and unhappy in first world countries is because of the everyday lifestyles. We're going on a dangerously unhealthy path. We're spending less time with loved ones and good friends, and more time alone looking at a screen. Getting much less exercise than our ancestors. Eating horribly. Not spending enough time outside. And not sleeping long enough and well enough. The modernized lifestyle that people so greatly push for, is in a way, toxic to humans.

I'm not even a materialistic person. I don't care about cars, or fancy house decorations, or getting the the hot new fashion, or anything like that. I almost always buy the cheapest I can without thought of how others would perceive me or what others have. I just wish I could comfortably live without working all the time. I wish I had more time for myself, to work on what I really want to work on, to develop on my own, to indulge in what I'm in the mood for. I work all the time, spend time doing chores and cooking and traveling and keeping personal hygiene, and of course sleep; I don't have time for myself after all of that. Of course I'd rather my current life than one where I'd be a poor villager who has even less time for their self and struggles just to afford grains of rice, but that shouldn't invalidate my issues.

Appreciate the video, but corporations and governments don't profit from their citizens being happy, in fact, it's quite the other way around. The more unhappy you are, the more you consume, the more money you need, the more you have to work, the more taxes you have to pay.

I haven't finished watching the video but I paused to comment about the News. I agree that if we were to change what we show on the news on a regular basis that we would probably be happier people and view the world with less fear.

Your collection of videos are wonderful!  When I first checked them out I figured it would be a bunch of PC (Liberal) crud.  Instead, I found your videos to be neither "Liberal" or "Conservative", but merely TRUTH.  Wow!  That is rare on the Internet.  Thanks (for real!!).  Very informative stuff.
