First the tide rushes in Plants a kiss on the shore
Then rolls out to sea
And the sea is very still once more
So I rush to your side
Like the oncoming tide
With one burning thought
Will your arms open wide
At last we’re face to face
And as we kiss through an embrace
I can tell, I can feel
You are love, you are real
Really mine
In the rain, in the dark, in the sun
Like the tide at its ebb
I’m at peace in the web
Of your arms
I have loved this piece ever since I first heard it. What I envision is two lovers meeting on a stretch of beach, running toward each other, and embracing in a loving kiss toward the end. Have always had that vision from this music.
I am also 61 female who always loved music like this..when I was 16 I loved "Ferrante &Tiecher" The Apartment" ..I was and will always be deep soul an old soul A Pisces.. looking for Music for A lazy Afternoon" listen to "Deodato" Love Island he also does Afternoon of The Fawn" I love the composure of this man Frank'Chacksfield..
I have loved and searched for this version for years, finally I found it . You Tube is great. By the way I am 72 in my youth had a house on the beach, so this was my everyday song.
I discovered music on the radio at age 12, and fell in love with this (in those days, 1953, stuff like this was on the hit parade) The only radio in our home was in my father's '47 Lincoln Zephyr, and he let me go out there and listen for hours - what a guy.
Thanks Mom. This was your album you used to play when we left California. As a baby I remember well you playing this on the Sony console stereo dad brought back from Japan when he was U.S.N. North Island and Viet Nam was all the NEWS. She would play this album when my dad was away fighting the war, and the house was lonely and we missed dad. Thanks again Mom. Rest in Peace. - Joseph
