This so g is more true now then ever before. Frank is a bit of a visionary it seems. Those who scream Revolution now know nothing of the Freedom they currently have.

Bob Dylan? I find the politics of this song a little worrying. I love Frank but it's a little right of centre for a bob dylan comparison. 'Politics nothing but plunder' So tax of the rich is some how bad? .....

Interesting reading some comments here. Decided to look Frank Turner up and he considers himself to be a "classical liberal" which basically just means he's libertarian/conservative-leaning. I interpreted the first half of the song to be critical of fake left wing socialists who wear Che Guevarra t-shirts despite the fact that wearing a Che Guevarra t-shirt would be the complete antithesis to everything Che stood for. Always repeating a revolution needs to happen despite never experiencing suffering. The second half I interpreted to be an attack on the right wing rich politicians who want to silence the masses and using their politics to continually plunder from the poor and add to their riches.

Lord save me from those with my best interests at heart Lord save me from sleeves emblazoned with hearts From fools who place horses in front of their carts Who care less for learning than teaching For they know not of what they are speaking Yeah, you're marching in matching Che Guevara T-shirts You're so damn conceited, it's starting to hurt You were born into freedom so you don't know its worth And you constantly speak of solutions But you only repeat revolution When you live with your parents, your ideals come cheap But what of the families with children to feed For the ones who've scored riches have more than they need While the rest of us think of survival Your money can pay for your morals You say that for omelettes, you're gonna need to break eggs But if you follow your logic, you're soon breaking heads To patch your polemic, you tear us to shreds You'd steal all our voices for your thunder For your politics, nothing but plunder And we will not be judged or be put into place As no more than members of class are of race We're free individuals and that's what you hate Our society is not a machine You can steer or shut down as you please

If somebody told me this song was ghostwritten by a young Bob Dylan I'd probably believe them. Then again, we are dealing with Frank Turner here, so perhaps not. Outstanding.

Of course this is going to be one of his least popular songs. Why is the arts & music so rife with self righteous & pretentious left-wingers. Music/Art is the most capitalist-driven industry going.
