Hot Damn this Smuckers a Jam. Thanks uploadsterrrr
My first introduction to Jazz from my Dad. Used to listen to this album and Super Blue on tape driving back and forth from Rochester to Dryden NY summers in the late 70s early 80s. Freddie, Hubert Laws, George Benson and the crew...... Sure do miss those days.
I have to share a time 1980. Searching for jazz to hear. I came across it at the 'Light House', Hermosa Beach CA. Freddy finished his drink went to start playing jazz. Unreal performance. My appreciation of coultrane 'speed ball' morphed that night. The basit racing the trumpeter.
This entire album was the bomb. I undoubtedly listened to it more than any other CTI album, and there were many produced and arranged by the great Don Sebesky. RIP the great Freddie Hubbard.
I was only eleven when my older brothers brought this album home, but started to appreciate Freddie Hubbard's music at an early age, and still love it today. This version of Admiral Halsey is one of my favorites, and a timeless masterpiece.
