The more transistors the better. The cheap $10 radios had only 2 transistors, and could only get the most powerful local stations. Six transistor radios could get all local stations, and some distant stations at night. More expensive models, from $30 to $50 had twelve or more transistors, and could get AM stations from much of the country at night.

I like the Transistor Sisters. Now it's the iPod sisters.

Your right, mine was the size of a pack of smokes. You had to hold it up to your ear, and put your thumb on the little wheel on the side to get the next AM station!!!
