Why don t you hop on this funk connection, we ve been strivin
Wo oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh, sent to you from eons away
After seein the world we lived in and what we could be givin, sent to you from eons away
Friends there are many, friends there are many
With our groove we ll move ya, with our groove we ll move ya
Friends there are many, sent to you from eons away
We are the phunklords, friends there are many
Slippin away from a ship of fools who had a captain that changed the rules, we are the phunklords
Gonna hit you with a one and then, we are the phunklords and we re coming to ya Funkadelic, love is forgiving
Don t throw away your wisdom to those on the loosin side, we ve been strivin
we ve been strivin
we are descending unto you leaving a trail of truth behind us
Sent to you from eons away, just to spread some funk your way, we are the phunklords
To others it s just a game, we gonna give your feet a treat Phunklords, to others it s just a game
some are real and know the truth
so happy to see you again
After seein the world we lived in and what we could be givin, with our groove we ll move ya Phunklords, each one s not the same
Gonna hit you with a one and then, with our groove we ll move ya
We gonna give your feet a treat, why don t you hop on this funk connection, we are the phunklords
to others it s just a game
I remember this album and it didn't include George Clinton! I bought it anyway and slowly I found out some of its members left the band. Politics, drugs, money, etc all got in the way of a supergroovalistic band. I hope either they got back together, one way or another. Good jam!
I think this album was made during the Funkadelic split.... Who's a Funkadelic? is a 1992 CD re-release of the 1981 album recorded by original Parliament members Fuzzy Haskins, Calvin Simon, and Grady Thomas, who left the P-Funk fold in the late '70s and later recorded Connections & Disconnections with no help from George Clinton. Though the trio spends most of the album criticizing Clinton's shifty business practices (which may be quite valid), the only thing that comes through is how much they need his production expertise. Never quite terrible, Connections & Disconnections makes small claims at mediocrity on scattered tracks.
SHIP- as in Mothership; FOOLS- as in The Funk Mob. CAPTAIN- as in George Clinton. "After seeing the world we lived in/ and what we could be giving/ we feel for you." THE WORLD WE LIVED IN- Music, drug use, confusion. "Friends they are many/ each ones not the same."- Meaning the many members of Parliament-Funkadelic. "Some are real and know the truth"- Meaning the members who left. "To others it's just a game."- The ones who decided to stay,
This album was a sleeper....Funk was transitioning with this one...vocals were on point...guitar funky and rocking as usual..my goodness......ON THE ONE!..you could hear it....feel it too......oh..lo!l..okay...getting ahead of myself..:) a shame it did not catch on like the rest of the "Funkadelic'... connections & disconnections?....the bomb!
