Thanks Big Ant I was just looking for music to play at my mum's funeral next week and this is perfect. My dad and mum were massive Glenn Miller fans and was always played.
I grew up listening to the Miller band in the early 70's-Adios was one of his best arrangements-I was always a night owl-when my parents were asleep I would creep out of the house to walk the old neighborhood at 2AM.Adios was one of the songs that would play in my head-in the dark you could pretend it was 1940 and not 1970.The youth of today worship ghetto music-unbelievable.
As I guy who grow up in the 60s and 70s listening to and loving the Beatles and the Eagles, this music is well . . . PRETTY DAMN GOOD. I guess my parents were right after all about Glenn Miller. Between the trash of today, I'll take the big bands any day!
Glenn's rendition is just great. Also like Cugat's version which is more latin. No matter, both are just great. Am glad am still around to hear the old bands. I've been here since 1938.
Personally, I enjoy the music of Glenn Miller very much just like other jazz performers of any era. It brings a lot of soothing and relaxation whenever I need a break from a hard time.
