Still a stunning song after 50 years, the line " But heroes often fail " still makes me cry today. So glad I was born in this era.

My father just passed away last week. This was one of his favorite songs. I miss him so much, I can’t stop listening to it.

His music helped me through some of the most difficult times in my life after Vietnam. I’ll always be a fan.

The 70s ~ when singers could actually sing and musicians could actually play.

"When you reach the part where the heartaches come, the hero would me, but heroes often fail..." Sadly I've been there.

I'm 19 years old and can't stand the stuff pop artists put out today, this is pure genius, it's got so much heart to it. I'm a big fan of Lightfoot as well as Buffett, Denver, Dylan, and other great folk artists from the 60s and 70s, these gentleman can tell great stories just with their music, it's truly a lost art.
