this is what it is for me from personal experience...
he's on your mind for one small moment, a shred of a second. you tell your brain to forget so it does for a while. the waters of your brain are settles. but all of a sudden a wave crashes down on you and you're drowning in memories, and love, and laughter, and sadness, and anger, and lonliless, and emotion. then, its gone.
Here's what the "Comes and goes in waves" means to me.
It's like, large emotional surges that you get occasionally, usually because of music, and late at night... You feel such a connection with everything, and an admiration for everything and everyone. An understanding. And you're laughing and crying like an idiot. Chills all over your body.
Next thing you know, that feeling is gone.

This song is my spirit through depression. This song is my faith that my emotions come and go in waves and my utter disappointment in myself and despair is temporary. Sometimes longer than others but temporary like waves and I ride through them. This song is my tired but strong spirit fighting with that tiny yet powerful flame that is hope for life. I look around and life can be harsh but truly magic and we are here and that is all that matters.
There’s a lot of things that come and go in my life, depression being the most frequent visitor. And it most certainly hits like a wave. I love this song and it helps me realize I am not alone on this
