RIP Marty Balin. This was always my favorite song by this group. He nailed these vocals! Back when music was real and touched feelings deep inside.

I dedicate this song to my precious granddaughter Victoria who has had unfortunately has had several obstacles in her path but has managed by the grace of god and her loving family surpassed them and become victorious as her name

COUNT ON ME has a very special meaning to me.  I was in JET PILOT TRAINING in the U.S. AIR FORCE at Reese A.F.B in Lubbock,  TEXAS. I had just soloed my first jet in UNDERGRADUATE JET PILOT TRAINING in the T-37 jet aircraft. When I   returned to my squadron after my initial solo, this song was playing over the loud speaker. For some reason I really connected with it, fell in love with it and I have never forgotten that moment. I went on to earn my wings as an AIR FORCE JET PILOT. This song has been indelibly ensconced in my memory over the years and every time I hear it,  tears roll up in my eyes thinking about that wonderful and profound moment I initially heard it.  Thanks JEFFERSON STARSHIP for COUNT ON ME and wonderful memories it engenders!!!
