listening to jimmy cliff is just like reading a novel and a comedy of manner and some criticism picture for social feedback.

One of the greatest composition of all time. I listened to this song as I was growing up in surburb of Lagos in the late 70s. Nothing in the world has changed. The song reflects the true nature of man, pretence all the time. Thanks to Swamp Dogg, the writer and Jimmy for covering it and giving it to the wider world of Africa!

This song evokes beautiful memories of good times at my dad's house in Takoradi, Ghana. We played the LP from morning to evening when my dad went to work. Wondering where all the guys who came to hang out with us are. Life is a movement. Nothing stays the same but the memories are hard to erase. Glad to have found this song.

This was one of Jimmy Cliff's music that we always played at our high school gatherings. Listening to this, brings back memories of the good old days in Nigeria.................. Sometimes, I wish I can turn the hands of the clock backwards to the year that Synthetic World gave me a hope for the future to come.....................

This song could have been written today, instead of the mid seventies. The words have more in common with the plight the world is in now, or was he just foretelling the future?????

I like this as much as the Swamp Dogg version. I never knew Jimmy covered it? He's still great in concert at 71. He was here last summer.

Forget the relevant lyrics and superb arrangements, the baseline and horns are just something of a phenomenon unto itself!

Started rocking this at the age of 12 in the Garden City - Port Harcourt Nigeria. Just discovered another part of life, after the deadful Biafran War. Passed all nights listening to Jimmy Cliff & consoling myself.
