That is My amazing Wonderful Father-In-Law right there! I sure am Lucky to have him in my life. And he was Just nominated for a Grammy in the Best Regional Roots Music Category. We are all so excited. He put's his heart and soul into every piece of music he Writes, Sings and Plays. He truly deserves this nomination!
this is my grandma's cousin and I always grew up listening to this song in our house (as well as others by him) but I never knew the name of it...now I found it :D
Jo-El does the best "ES", ever! Will wake the dead, and make 'em get up and two-step, "Ah gar-onn-tee!" :-D Great post! I got to thinking about "the music", since I'm exiled here in Arizona (what?) for a while --- I'm actually from Houston, but I'm used to a lot more Cajun culture around than you are likely to get here in the desert *chuckle!*. All is not lost, though --- the other day, I found a meat-market (Schreiner's) in Phoenix that has *andouille sausage*! :-D Red beans and rice, aw-huh!
