John Denver signed "Calypso" over to Jacque Cousteau's org so that all profits from this song would go towards more exploration of the sea. Amazing.

Only one complaint - the song and video are way too short. :)

John and Jacques showed us how beautiful our planet is. One from nature the other from song.

This song and video reminds me that in a world full of ugliness, it is also filled with beauty and wonder.   Mr. Denver though you died many years ago, your music continues to be a source of joy and peace.   THANK YOU!

I don't think we appreciated John enough. It's been years and I wonder what he'd be singing today, had he not left us.

Not sure why, but my favourite line from this is "the men who have served you so long and so well". It pays homage to the history of this vessel.

I saw him perform this song live on Johnny Carson.  He picked up his guitar, started playing & singing & it was amazing.  John Denver was a true artist.  He wrote, sang & played his own music.  He was a gifted guitarist & vocalist.  I miss him.

How refreshing to see men acting in kindness and respect towards the creatures that Holy God has put in His creation for us to cherish and enjoy!  Refreshing to also not see life being destroyed or mutilated!  Wish the world was more like Jacques  and John.

This just breaks my heart... and my spirit...Jacques Cousteau is not known by younger generations and the Calypso doesn't sail...The most heartbreaking is the continued degradation of our magnificent Oceans...gigantic floating trash piles of plastics, toxic leakage of chemicals and radiation...and the wanton stripping of marine life. I would think Jacq and John cry in heaven over it.

When I was in 5th grade I remember my teacher who was a male named Mr. Allerton showed our class this song and for a week he had us listen to it and try to figure out what it meant. This song is so amazing and pure. This man was legend in my teachers eyes, our class mates and in the worlds eyes. I will always remember listening to this song for the first time in fifth grade
