Just walking in the rain
Getting soaking wet
Torturing my heart by trying to forget
Just walking in the rain
So alone and blue
All because my heart still remembers you
People come to their windows,
They always stare at me
Shaking their heads in sorrow
Saying, Who can that fool be
Just walking in the rain
Thinking how we met
Knowing things have changed
Somehow I can’t forget
Great singers have their own unique sound and talent and this most certainly applies to the vocal sound of the great Johnny Ray. Thank you for posting.
I can still remember Jonny Ray appearing in Australia in the 1950s, He was my first "pop star with hits like' cry' and "The little white cloud that cry.
It started raining lightly about an hour ago. I asked my wife if she wanted to go for a
walk in the rain. Walkin' in the Rain, and Johny Ray immediately came to my mind. I haven't heard the song in about 60 years. It's great to hear it again. Thank you!!
Hi Nora. I never got to see him, didn't have any money back then so didn't go to concerts. (ARGHHH!) Ahhh...those trenchcoats were really neat----but they got a bad reputation...LOL! Ahhhh, the fifties!
The incredible about Johnny Ray was that he was almost completely deaf and wore hearing aids, you can see the wire from his left ear. Thanks for turning me onto this great performer. Cry by Johnnie is an amazing tune also. I am 61 and still listen to rock but these guys were amazing.
timeless and beautiful , remember driving to the coast with my nana and papa every weekend listening to this and other brilliant old songs , rip nana love you
I was about 10 when this was so popular. My Dad had a restaurant and would let the teens come in and dance on Friday and Saturday nights.....It was a wonderful time....so many great songs like this one and so many others still linger in my mind...my wife is amazed at the fact that I sill remember all the words to hundreds and hundreds of songs from the 50s. It is so great to hear them again...million thanks t you tube and to those who load these old ones..I love you all.
