Like so many others around here I had this tune on tape - possibly recorded from a CD (can' t remember) and it was my road into Jazz. Almost makes me cry listening to JG(P)W here. I think here in Europe he was very underrated as musical talent. He was regarded more like a black clown, crazy doing shows with a lot of excentric aspects. His keyboard guy was blind and he was his Co. There are so many storys around JGW. More or less by luck I got a copy of "Freddy" and to date playing it - looks very much like Johnny' s ES335 but is not even an Original Gibson. Enough of me back to JGW listening to the final bars of this BEAUTIFUL interpretation of Misty. So unique and inspired and technically challenging.
