I could only dream of sitting next to Larry and Fonce Mizell when this one was going through the mixing desk.

The intro gets me every time i hear it. What a combination, Hammond and the Mizell Brothers.

well it definitely "runs in the famlee" considering that Jam Master Jay was related to the Mizell brothers who produced this classic that JMJ sampled for the Fam-lee's 1991 hit single

Still get exactly the same emotional pang listening to this as I did on first hearing it all those years ago. That Rhodes solo in the middle is sublime. Like the man says "Check out the sound".......

I used to listen to this while I smoked my HERB when I lived on 407 Olmstead Ave. in The Bronx...I was at A.E. Stevenson at the time....what very fond memories....Peace and Love!

Bought this album in my late teens over 25 years ago. For my money this was and remains the benchmark Jazz-Funk album, it bears all the hallmarks of the seemless professionalism of a Mizzell brothers production exemplified by their work with Donald Byrd but reached its zenith with this collaboration with Johnny Hammond the whole album is 24ct Gold
