Johnny Mercer was absolutely fabulous - yet I only recently became aware that he had written or performed so many of my favorite songs from years ago. I Remember You. Skylark. These are a couple of the greatest songs ever written. Thanks for your post.

fantastic laid back delivery from Mercer and the Harry Roche band is wonderfully tight and groovy. I don't think Mercer had long to live when this was recorded :-/

I’ve heard the songs, I may have even heard the voice, but I’ve never seen the man! Great footage and a fantastic performance by Mr. Mercer! I’ll have to begin a collection of his albums! ☮️

He was an extremely talented lyricist with an ability to play at words with such a sharp and shameless sense of humor. It's no wonder Judy Garland loved him :)

Johnny Mercer wrote the lyrics to an astonishing number of great songs...this is one of his very best, and he wrote the music to this as well.  Should have won the 1955 Oscar for Best Song, not the cornball Love Is a Many Splendored Thing.
