And stand on the heights, but we ll overcome, tryna find where we don t belong
The world goes on, in our dreams
Waiting there in the western sky, the west wind sighs Justin, in our dreams
The west wind sighs, but we ll overcome
dreaming of the green hills
And we ll be together, i realize what i got to do, as we look around us
Shadows in the darkness, i realize what i got to do Sky, gazing at each other
Waiting there in the western sky, waiting there in the western sky, and we ll be together
Just passing through, i realize what i got to do Western, now that i have found you
Now i know that i m not alone, as we look around us The, tryna find where we don t belong
And we ll be together, and stand on the heights, tryna find where we don t belong
In our dreams, bring me some redemption Western, in our dreams
But we ll overcome, tryna find where we don t belong The, but we ll overcome
In our dreams, tryna find where we don t belong Hayward, and stand on the heights
Just passing through, in our dreams
listening to the night bird
But we could fly, dreaming of the green hills Justin, bring me some redemption
in our dreams
bring me some redemption
But we ll overcome, just passing through, a beautiful adventure
In our dreams, in our dreams
but we could fly
take me home
Isn t it a strange world, in our dreams The, out on the horizon
And stand on the heights, waiting there in the western sky
Listening to the night bird, take me where my heart lies
take me home
i realize what i got to do
Just passing through, as we look around us, and we ll be together
the world goes on
Really lovely, and i feel like I'm hearing some of the sound of the mellotron in there, especially in the end notes, the last minute of the song. Just beautiful. I'm new to this album (although a life-long fan of the Moody Blues) and I just want to ask if anyone here knows who's working with JH on this? Is Mike Pinder on the keyboards, by chance? It just has that familiar echo and comforting sound that I always have loved with the Moodies.
So poetic, still writes from his heart and can evoke such feelings out of anyone :). Love it... So special .. love our Justin..so gifted and we are lucky he shares it with us...
One theory I have is that, not being in the slightest touched by the music, the people I referred to instead homed in on the words/messages which they of course deemed pretentious or simplistic. I'm sure none of the Moodies would claim to have set out all those years back to write great philosophical texts. But then that's not what they were about. Me, I can't be objective about their work. After hearing Days of Future Past back in '67, courtesy an elder brother, I bought all the other six of the famous seven albums. Along with certain other bands, their music transported me to another level. Emotional depth, exhilaration, and beauty oozed out of the grooves of those LP's.
Justin Hayward has no equal when it comes to writing songs like this. He is a master of his craft. Songs that touch the heart, songs that mean something to someone. Absolutely brilliant.
It never stops, does it. These songs just keep coming. I thank God for Justin, a voice that makes life a little more tolerable.........and magical. Wonderful work.
Justin Hayward is one of the greatest songwriters and musicians of the last 50 years. He is so underrated and so many if his great songs were kept under the radar. If his music had been exposed like the Beatles and Beach Boys he would have received his proper recognition. I love his music so much and it has been such a large part of my life
And I don't get a couple of the comments here that took shots at the backup vocals.. I find her "oohs and Aaahs" hypnotic, very well done, helps transcend this song into the heavens.
Notice how Justin samples a snippet of Days of Future Passed (seconds before the beginning of Nights in White Satin), plays at the beginning and end of this great song.
