I find this piece of music absolutely absorbing....I can drift away into a world of my own....which is just what Karl Jenkins wanted. This is one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written....the mans a genius....
I had this played at my husband's funeral at his previous request. God knows why, but two years after the funeral, I just had to hear this piece again. I think of flying through space towards the Most Beautiful Destination. Though it brings tears to my eyes, it brings a certain peace as well.
I am an ICU nurse. I wish, when we withdraw care from a patient and I stand there as I did this week as a person passes beyond, I wish I could share this piece of music with the gathered family members. It plays in my head. I know suffering is ending and the person will be whole again. It allows me to leave the family to be with their loved one and to be able to square my thoughts as I care for my other patient in the other room. God bless you Karl Jenkins.
Can there be music that can possibly be more wonderful or as beautiful as this, Benedictus, it breaks my heart. Elliott, my son, I still love you and always will. Elliott you should Come and find me I will welcome you with open arms. When we were together our relationship was special, so do not let others destroy what we had, listen to your heart, listen to wisdom and let me see you again before it is too late. I am here for you, I love you with all my power and strength, and with all my soul. Your Dad. XX
The music alone is breath-taking - I've sung it in a choir with an orchestra, but this... This gave me chills!! Absolutely stunning!! Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us!
"In the darkness something was happening at last. A voice had begun to sing…it seemed to come from all directions at once…Its lower notes were deep enough to be the voice of the earth herself. There were no words. There was hardly even a tune. But it was beyond comparison, the most beautiful noise he had ever heard."
