It hurts to be told when you’re not very old
That you’re an outlaw’s son
And the older you get they won’t let you forget
That you’re the son of a gun a bad bad gun you son of a gun
And then you’ll meet someone so sweet and she says her heart you’ve won
But her old dad get’s awfuly mad
She’ll marry no son of a gun a bad bad gun the son of a gun
One day her dad must face a bad a bad outlaw with a gun
You’re quick on the draw and you saved her pa You no good son of a gun a bad bad gun you son of a gun
Now everyone who is someone smiles at the outlaw’s son
You’re one of the crowd her dad’s so proud
She’ll marry the son of a gun a bad bad gun the son of a gun
She’ll marry the son of a gun
Thank you for your comment my friend.
To me he's a big legend, and will always be.
He was very popular in Sweden in the late 60's and 70's.
Did a lots of TV-shows and recorded songs together with
several Swedish female singers.
He's one of the great ones in my oppinion.
Can't you hear that it's the same voice???
It's from an LP that Lee is singing all the songs.
Please listen to Sanfords version on You Tube, than you could hear the difference.
Please do that.
Listen also to Lee's Long Black Train.Trouble Is A Lonesome Town,it's from the same album.
I promise you that this is Lee singing,Sanfords version have a whole different backing, and was recorded for Jamie Records in 1959,Lee's version was recorded 1963 for the Mercury label.
Thanks for this.....one of my favourite Lee albums......what the world needs now is another outlaw country concept album...heard any good ones lately anyone? MDJ
