In April of 1975, I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Nimoy. He was at a book signing at Alexander's department store in Paramus, NJ. My son was only a few months old and had fallen asleep in his stroller. When we finally got to the front of the line, Mr. Nimoy smiled tenderly at him and said "Aww." I shook his hand and went away with a treasured memory. I was heartbroken when Mr. Nimoy succumbed to emphysema, as I likely will also. Somehow, as I live with this disease, I don't feel so alone. Thank you, Mr. Nimoy. Your courage inspires me.

Song reminds me of reentering the civilian sector after the Army. I heard a female employee ask my boss, "When he's smiling, that means he's happy, right?" It took a death in my family to get me to start being HUMAN again. LLAP Commander Spock.
