What a shock to find out she passed away and in an unpleasant way. Cancer is such a horrible disease.. My parents both died of lung cancer.. I loved her songs and courage to deal with a world that is far different from today. Her talent will be missed !!  Rest In Blessed Peace, Richard Beman

Lest we forget, the music for this classic was composed by Rube Bloom, and the lyrics by Johnny Mercer, in 1940. The line "fools rush in where angels fear to tread" first appeared in Alexander Pope's poem: Essays In Criticism," in 1711, and has since entered the general English language as an odiom. Wish Ms. Gore had recorded more of these songs from THE GREAT AMERICAN SONBOOK.
