Is the fear to speak that no one dares, disconnected from the things i see
Anybody listening to me, is there anybody there, is there anybody there
is there anybody out there
ashamed of the racists i used to call brothers
the paranoia drops me to my knees
Another kid fostered to fester, but i ain t going down alone
Disguised as a savior, is there anybody there
lemme say this
when bloodied by slavery
is there anybody out there?
is there anybody
Take a look into these desperate eyes, is the fear to speak that no one dares
Is anybody else scared, another kid fostered to fester
Is there anybody out there, i m choking on these words and i can t breathe, to men with no honor
Is there anybody out there, anybody listening to me, but i ain t going down alone
here s a little something
i was born as a bastard
Is there anybody out there?, not all who wander are lost
disconnected from the things i see
Does anybody feel lonely, and the sickening feeling in the air
the paranoia drops me to my knees
Disconnected from the things i see, is there anybody out there?
Is there anybody, dream like i ll live forever, is there anybody
Is there anybody, disconnected from the things i see
dream like i ll live forever
Not all who wander are lost, does anybody feel lonely
Is there anybody out there?, is anybody else scared
anybody listening to me
dream like i ll live forever
So will i stand here all alone, is there anybody out there
I m choking on these words and i can t breathe, this burden suffered
Ashamed of the racists i used to call brothers, is there anybody out there, anybody out there just like me
is anybody else scared
is there anybody there
Is there anybody out there?, anybody out there just like me Head, a shadow in silence left searching for answers
Disguised as a savior, is there anybody out there?, is there anybody out there?
I m choking on these words and i can t breathe, i m choking on these words and i can t breathe, is anybody else scared
Is there anybody out there, is there anybody out there
is there anybody out there
Is there anybody out there?, anybody out there just like me
does anybody feel lonely
is there anybody out there
dream like i ll live forever
Disconnected from the things i see, lemme say this, is there anybody out there
is there anybody there
so will i stand here all alone
ashamed of the racists i used to call brothers
is there anybody
Ok Flynn we get it. Phil Anselmo said something stupid when he was drunk, we've all said dumb things we didn't mean. And he's apologized for it several times. There's no need to keep white knighting the whole thing, everyone's over it. I'm finding it very hard to look up to Flynn anymore
It took me a few listens to get into this song. I've loved Machine Head for years and this tune is good! A sign of a good band is when they are willing to shake things up a little. It's a million miles way from Burn My Eyes - but that is a good thing. Do you want a band that just does more of the same or a band band that actually tries something a little different?
"Now I stand as a father, to men with no honor
Ashamed of the racists I used to call brothers
Cause no flag can mean bravery,
when bloodied by slavery,
The rebel, a devil, disguised as a savior
And the sickening feeling in the air
Is the fear to speak that no one dares"
So as a song, it isn't blowing me away. But the message behind the second verse, that on the other hand is powerful. The style is different and honestly, not too much of a fan of it, but to sing lyrics you know will more than likely jeopardize your fan base (in the South) for the sake of making a statement, I give you serious props for that. The song is okay-ish, racism is not.
Now We Die was a masterpiece. this seems to last minute.....
....because it was. people that are hating don't realise the purpose of this song.
It's not meant to be a Machine Head classic. it's meant to send Robs message about how the situation of Racism in metal isn't getting any better.
watch the previous videos on machine heads channel. especially the part 2 video to the concept "is there anybody out there?" and watch the last minute where Rob is standing near a window. it explains everything
This is so MH. Kids, listen to the old albums. You may not like this compared to the thrash they've been doing recently but this is completely in line with their overall sound. If you haven't heard the 70 & 80s punk/poppunk influence then you haven't been listening.
This is f**king amazing. Don't listen to others cursing at Machine Head because of lyrics, open your eyes and don't be limited to only 1 type of music, embrace the feeling!
This comment section of butthurt 'trve' conservative 'metal-elite' snowflakes shows exactly why the metal-scene is dead.
Great band, great song, great message.
Can't believe so many people are crying about this song, saying how bad it is. Really sad to see that once a metal band starts to try and put some meaning or emotion into a song or even just change the lyrics up a little, people will go "boo! its bad! oh my god! So not cool anymore". Grow the fuck up. Not every song has to be about murder and such.
All I can say to this band is: just make the music YOU want to make. Don’t make mainstream songs just because the mainstream wants, and don’t make old school songs just because old school fans want. Make whatever songs YOU want to make, and just because YOU want. Nobody else. You guys are one of my top bands of all time. I’m proud of you.
Machine Head has supplied me with more good
metal than most bands "out there". They have a lifetime pass as far as I'm concerned from here on out. I'm grateful.
Some of y'all need to lighten up.
