He’s got her wrapped around his fingers, she’s falling right into his eyes
Chorus: but looks aren’t everything, take it from a man who knows
Looks aren’t everything, what’s in her heart doesn’t always show
I know how she looks, but looks aren’t everything
See the way she smiles when he holds her
Looks as if she’s in his arms to stay
To think she once cried on my shoulder
And smiled at me that same old way
I agree with the posters here, Collie was the real thing, and humble too. Opened for him in Oswego County in '89, a nicer guy you would never meet. Don't know why he didn't get HUGE, except that in those days you had to be an opportunist to make the quick moves as Nashville was fast becoming the Corporate Music Town it is today. Before the Internet delivery systems, one also had to have some where with all to pay people for air play, like between 300 &1000 bucks a week...
Sorry but this Dude Mark Collie has become my favourite country artist of all time ! His "We'll never say Goodbye" is going to be my going out number ! He's no1 on my bucket list if I'm ever lucky enough to win the big one ! He's my first port of call !!
