It was 1986 and Kurdt Vanderhoof came out with one of the best guitar solos in the history of Metal.

In a darkened graveyard glows a light. I see it shine there every night. I know somewhere there's a hidden door. There's an answer here we must explore. No, I'll not submit to reason. I'll sit and watch the seasons change. We watch the children pray. Save us God today, Come whatever may. We hold our fate and make the choice, But we'll not listen to that still small voice. Are we just crazy, out of our minds? Wish this were someplace, another time. We watch the children pray. Save us God today, Come whatever may. And I know we're going So far away from this wretched life we lead. With open arms meet catastrophe, In the valley of the damned we'll be. And I know we're going So far away from this wretched life we lead. With open arms meet catastrophe, In the valley of the damned we'll be. We watch the children pray. Save us God today, Come whatever may. And now to life we say goodbye. I know the when but not the why. Our nation's blood spills on the ground. Our lives go out without a sound.

loved the days of being an outcast because of my leather jacket and listening to metal church .... Now no one looks at me funny anymore . They say to me "why can't we be more like you ??" well I was never afraid to be myself and carried years of shit for it but now it is me who is truly free and not  being someone I am not !!!

I don't always go to church but when I do I make sure it's the metal church. Crank it!

Pre-chorus sounds like it's sung by the almighty Dio.

The first two Metal Church albums should of made them filthy rich. Not bad song on either one. So much better then GnR first album.

Metal Church forever! I can almost hear Dave Wayne's awesome vocals as he sings--now in Glory--with a Mighty Metal chorus of Angels.

My dad got me into Heavy Metal... In fact, when I was little, I'd wake up at about two or three in the morning just to come out to the living room to listen to him play, speakers cranked to max volume, as he'd play Black Sabbath or Metallica. Best days of my childhood.

David Wayne. Such a fantastic voice for metal. ... and that snare drum! HUGE All these years later and this stuff still rules. R.I.P. David Wayne \m/ This is one of the first LPs I ever bought.

This album came out after Master of Puppets, even, but good luck convincing people here that it wasn't Metallica who stole it. However, Metal Church and Metallica toured together and the bandmates were apparently friends with each other, so there's really no telling what happened - either one could have heard the rehearsals or demos of the other. However, the song Metallica ripped off in Sanitarium is pretty much accepted to be a song by Bleak House called Rainbow Warrior.

OMG!!! Today is probably one of the happiest days of my life! Finally I found this song. I heard it on the old cassete without any inscription in the middle of 90-s, then lost it. I tried to find something but all was in vain. It was like sick intrusive idea for me: to find this song and the entire album. This diamond was unfairly forgotten. Even "Nothing else matters" of Metallica didn`t impress so much in its time. Still have to re-listen all tracks, which I long for years. I remember "Start the fire" pretty well, that`s very impressive thing too. God bless this band! I hope they are still active and have the same vocalist.
