The finest Jazz-funk instrumental ever made, absolutely magnificent. Musicianship of the highest calibre, I have never heard any band play tighter discipline, syncopating rhythm and punching bassline in 37 years since I started flinging my body all over the dance floor.
Used to love this but I hadn't heard this for years until it was featured as one of Ian Wright's Desert Island Discs on Sunday 16 February 2020, which brought me here.
Heard this song continually on WBLS & never knew who it was...back in the day BLS was notorious for not naming the artist lol!!! Time waits for no one...
Thanks "By Your Funky Side" for this wonderful sounding post. You know, of all the songs I wrote/produced/arranged for MFSB, this is for me the most different. I think it's an experiment in rhythmic, soft sonic synth and live string and harp combinations. Thanks
Thank You for this fantastic tune. If it wasn't for Ian Wright on the radio I would have never known the name of one my all time favourite Funk songs of the 80's. When men really danced..
This is the MFSB that emerged after most of the original members booked and wound up on the west coast at SalSoul. Wansel is all over this like white on rice!
