God in the form of this angry young man, come be a fool as well, so we follow god s own fool
believe the unbelievable
for the power of paradox opens your eyes
we in our foolishness thought we were wise
believe the unbelievable
And the priest said a demon s to blame, for only the foolish can tell, and the courage to say i believe
Come be a fool as well, as the wisest of all of mankind
even his family said he was mad
He played the fool and he opened our eyes, could not have seemed perfectly sane God's, god in the form of this angry young man
and the priest said a demon s to blame
and the priest said a demon s to blame
Seems i ve imagined him all of my life, he played the fool and he opened our eyes
and the priest said a demon s to blame
For a man never died for a dream, and you ll feel the weight of the beam
come be a fool as well
for the power of paradox opens your eyes
god in the form of this angry young man
Even his family said he was mad, we in our weakness believed we were strong Card, we in our weakness believed we were strong
Come be a fool as well, he played the fool and he opened our eyes Card, michael card

So come lose your life for a carpenter s son, believe the unbelievable
No song tops this as my favorite; it quickens my heart about the jiy if serving God's In Fool, and gives me confidence to face the rocks that come with it. Hallelujah. Hallelujah!
This is the perfect response to scientific secularists--innocent and yet a powerful rebuke--tells them how wrong they are without a single angry or insulting word.
It's truly difficult for me to see how someone can get saved. I love this song and totally get it....but I sympathizes with people who don't get it.......aargh I guess that's why Jesus has to intervene
Ohh I just love Michael Card! His songs are rich and the music is divine. He energizes my soul with his solid, Bible based messages. THIS is quality gospel music - full of spiritual food, not the empty, repetitious songs that pass for gospel songs these days. I have loved him and this song for years and years. Happy to find it. It is sweet being "a fool" for Jesus. Have been a fool all my life. Thanks be to Jesus!
This WAS ONE OF THE FIRST contemporary christian SONGS I EVER HEARD.
AT FIRST I DIDN'T COMPREHEND IT'S MEANING,BUT ONCE I DID,THOUGHT IT WAS terrific!
A FEW YEARS LATER I SHARED IT acapella AT MY POP'S WEDDING.
A FEW MORE YEARS I LEGALLY CHANGED MY NAME TO THAT TITLE.
AFTER GOING THROUGH CONTINUOUS SLANDER AND MISUNDERSTANDING I HAD THE COURT REVERSE THE CHANGE.
Part 3:So come lose your life for a carpenter's Son-For a mad man who died for a dream-And You'll have the faith His first followers had-And you'll feel the weight of the beam-So surrender the hunger to say you must know-And The courage to say, "I believe"-
For the power of paradox opens your eyes-And blinds those who say they can see
Part 1: Seems I've imagined Him all of my life-As the wisest of all of mankind-But if God's Holy wisdom is foolish to men-He must have seemed out of His mind-For even His family said He was mad-And the priest said a demon's to blame-But God in the form of this angry young man-Could not have seemed perfectly sane
Imagine this: Jesus spoke timeless words. IE:, His Sermon on the Mount - nearly 2,100 years ago. They stand true today! Praise be to the Most High God!
Imagine also this: with all of the persecution today of Christians; be it from the media, the government, society, other religions, etc.; if Jesus had chose to come today instead of back then, would we want Him to squash our enemies, or die for them? ... and wasn't that the expectation then?
