This Island Earth is a sci-fi classic based on the story "The Alien Machine" (1949), which became the beginning of four chapters of the 1952 novel This Island Earth, adapted for this Universal production released in 1955. After more than 60 years, what still makes the plot interesting for the current public is the valorization of scientific production, I try in view that alien beings seek contact here on Earth with scientists - men and women researchers and generators of knowledge in science and technology , prepared to meet the demands of humanity and help promote technological, economic and social development. For these reasons, labs, outdated machines and equipment, and the primitive special effects for the times, don't compromise the good scenes of adventure and suspense. Scenes, sequels within the flying saucer and contacts with extraterrestrials influenced series such as Star Trek, Lost in Space and Star Wars, and had a sequel honored by Steven Spielberg in the ET movie. The truth is that there are good reasons to see This Island Earth. Faith Domergue, released by producer and tycoon Howard Hughes in the movie Vendetta (1946-1950), is a playful, entertaining and entertaining film.
