A truly beautiful man. The impression I have is that he had little but wanted for nothing. Imagine what a world it would be with many more like he. His playing inspired me and I'm still nowhere near his playing after forty years.

Arlo Guthrie also covered My Creole Belle. I find it so amazing how so many of my favorite musicians cover songs first recorded by Mississippi John Hurt. As a lover of traditional/folk music, I see MJH as the primary influence for several generations of great American musicians. IMO, he belongs in the same category with Robert Johnson.
