This record really changed my life. I can't express to you how deeply it still affects me today. I finally got the record play on vinyl and it's probably one of my most prized possessions. Also, daniel hurley, that's a very interesting take on Mock Orange especially since you used to work for Lobster. I always try to give those other albums a chance but always find myself coming back to the first two. Mark Trombino's production is so masterful and compliments their sound so well. I wouldn't have it any other way.
They truly were amazing to me and their old stuff still is. They played in Brooklyn a few weeks ago.... My husband and I thought about getting a babysitter and heading over - but then figured why bother...... Sad - at least I'll have my memories on weeknights at Brownies on Avenue A in nyc.
I completely agree with Daniel Hurley below... I loved!!!!!! this band in the late 90s - they were the only sticker that I had on my first car - well that and an All sticker. I was obsessed with this album, they were the best thing I ever heard. Now they're just so different, it's heart breaking. I don't understand why they changed their sound and went in a completely different direction - the path they were going was so new, different and amazing - they were totally ahead of their time.
They'd barely have 10 people and it was outstanding! - I wish they just stuck with their sound a little longer, people weren't ready for them in the 90s - I play their old stuff for new friends now and they're amazed. They are my most missed band of my childhood.
I used to work for the indie label lobster records which mock orange was on for the recordings nines and sixes and the record play. Mock was the best band I`d ever heard in my life. They were my favorite band ever.........If you listen to the stuff they`re doing now, it`s like, what happened to the direction that their music is taking? What happened ryan? Their recordings for lobster records were produced by mark trombino from blink-182 fame and that`s why the sound was so epic.
