Huge Kraftwerk and New Order (thinking Power Corruption and Lies) influences. Good stuff. Now realizing the cross-influence the European and American scenes were having on one another back then.
Lol, in Detroit, we had clubs that would have parties, $5. They'd have fliers at all of the high schools where Preps went to school. On the bottom they'd say, "Special Appearance by Juan Atkins" or any of the 3 and we'd be like, Who is that??? Little did we know... I remember going to Detroit Audio (and later, Buy Rite-Hey Cliff!) and purchasing Each, still have them. As I recall Technicolor was the Fav but the haunting melody of this is what I remember pouring from the Cerwin Vegas! We'd leave the party, all sound muted, hair flat from dancing 3-4 hours straight!
Everything about this track is amazing, including the lyrics:
They say, "There is no hope"
They say, "No UFOs"
Why is no head held high?
Maybe you'll see them fly...
