and i took you by the hand
But i won t rot, with grace in your heart and flowers in your hair
Get over your hill and see what you find there, and i look up After, and remembered our own land
that s why i hold
what we lived for
not this mind and not this heart
night has always pushed up day
Night has always pushed up day, get over your hill and see what you find there, that s why i hold with all i have
i saw exactly what was true
With grace in your heart and flowers in your hair, because death is just so full and mine so small, and there will come a time
i run and run as the rains come
get over your hill and see what you find there
And there will come a time, and love will not break your heart Sons, and now i cling to what i knew
What we lived for, and we stood tall
but i won t rot
But dismiss your fears, i saw exactly what was true, with grace in your heart and flowers in your hair
And love will not break your heart, get over your hill and see what you find there, and after the storm
Oh god knows where, i will die alone and be left there, but dismiss your fears
Well i m scared of what s behind and what s before, get over your hill and see what you find there, and love will not break your heart
and we stood tall
not this mind and not this heart
oh god knows where
And love will not break your heart, night has always pushed up day
but dismiss your fears
That s why i hold with all i have, well i guess i ll just go home
i will die alone and be left there
Because death is just so full and mine so small, and there will come a time
That s why i hold, with grace in your heart and flowers in your hair
And love will not break your heart, on my knees and out of luck
And love will not break your heart, that s why i hold
You must know life to see decay, get over your hill and see what you find there
Not this mind and not this heart, with no more tears
oh god knows where
well i m scared of what s behind and what s before
oh god knows where
and there will come a time
Get over your hill and see what you find there, on my knees and out of luck, well i guess i ll just go home
With no more tears, get over your hill and see what you find there, and there will come a time
clearly this was the m0st cherished parts of SGU , as many song movie combo were hauntingly beautiful . nothing has come close to match these soundbites.
My ex dedicated this song to me when I was going through a really rough time and as much as I resent her sometimes, this song will forever have such a deep meaning to me. It's so beautiful
Im going through a divorce and this song hits the spot..........all we can do is keep our head up and keep marching up that hill with grace in our hearts and flowers in our hair.............
This song perfectly captures the somberness of falling out of love after a breakup when you've held on for so long. It's that feeling of numbness where you're unsure of where to go from there after only knowing that grief for so long
And after the storm,
I run and run as the rains come
And I look up, I look up,
on my knees and out of luck,
I look up.
Night has always pushed up day
You must know life to see decay
But I won't rot, I won't rot
Not this mind and not this heart,
I won't rot.
And I took you by the hand
And we stood tall,
And remembered our own land,
What we lived for.
And there will come a time, you'll see, with no more tears.
And love will not break your heart, but dismiss your fears.
Get over your hill and see what you find there,
With grace in your heart and flowers in your hair.
And now I cling to what I knew
I saw exactly what was true
But oh no more.
That's why I hold,
That's why I hold with all I have.
That's why I hold.
I won't die alone and be left there.
Well I guess I'll just go home,
Oh God knows where.
Because death is just so full and man so small.
Well I'm scared of what's behind and what's before.
And there will come a time, you'll see, with no more tears.
And love will not break your heart, but dismiss your fears.
Get over your hill and see what you find there,
With grace in your heart and flowers in your hair.
This song saves my life. Every time I hear it
My mother recommended I listen to this yesterday. What a beautiful song.
Got my first tattoo with lyrics from this song. My absolute favorite song.
Death is just so full, and man so small... After my grandmother died this line of lyrics had new meaning to me it means how we allow death to overshadow us when a loved one dies and we become helpless and it's disheartening to see others and yourself like this but this same song brings back hope with the line
But there WILL come a time
With no more tears
And love will not break your heart
But dismiss your fears.
To me this means you will not have to worry about losing the people you love most but will be able to eternally love them and I look forward to this day. This song just really opens up my heart every time I listen to it and it's much needed... Thank you so much Mumford And Sons for your awesome and sometimes sobering music I hope to hear more music by you
